Update 01/01/2023: Concept Rework 2
Happy New Year everyone! Today I'll be releasing an update that has technically been finished for a while, but there were other related things that I wanted to look at before releasing.
This time, Concepts have been reworked.. sigh, AGAIN. Not that it's a bad thing, though, this time it's actually interesting, which you'll see just below.
Rulebook 0.11.0
- Concepts are now treated less as packages of Spells but rather a looser group of Spells that have the same names
- You can now only know a maximum of 5 Signatures and 5 Commands
- You can now only know a maximum of 3 Spells with the same name: a Signature, a Command, and one Tiered Spell.
- Learning a second Tiered Spell of the same name replaces the first, and learning Spells of 2nd Tier and up requires you to know the previous Tier.
- Learning Spells this way is the same as before: EXP cost is equal to the Spell Tier and Signatures and Commands cost 1 and 5 EXP respectively. For the Tiered Spells, the EXP cost already includes the EXP needed to learn the previous Tiers.
--This makes Spell Selection easier in the sense that you have better control over the Spell effects you want, but it also largely expands the options since there's 25+ per color and 5 Tiers each. There may be further restriction on which Spells may be learned to lessen choice paralysis, but for now this is how it's set up
Spell Compendium 0.9.3
- Chaos Warp (Red) reworked.
- Hunter's Domain (Green) Signature changed
- Artifice:Brewing (Colorless) 1st Tier Changed.
-- It's interesting how there's only 3 Concepts that are affected by the Concept Rework, and only one of them needed a major change. I may have missed something going through the Concept list but those shall be fixed as soon as I find them.
Future Plans and other things
- Character and GM sheets have been updated to reflect these changes
- Because this is a pretty big change (it changes how Concepts work after all), I'll be leaving the previous version of the rulebook and compendium for now.
- Future plan: Further development of Archetypes, Creatures, and Enchantments.
